Welcome! For whatever reason, you've managed to hit upon the one spot on the world-wide-web that hosts the worst reviews on the web. Does that mean that I'll be reviewing the worst movies? The worst television? The worst books? Does it mean that my reviews will be the worst reviews of something regardless of the item's quality? Damned if I know! You decide.

I had the pleasure of attending the presentation of the San Francisco Film Society's Mel Novikoff Award to Roger Ebert in 2010. The thing about Ebert I liked the most was that he loved movies - not "film" - but movies. Here's what I wrote at the time...

In 2002, director Eytan Fox brought us “Yossi & Jagger, ” a film simply described as “a gay love story between two Israeli soldiers.” It packed a lot of emotion and feeling in a scant 65 minutes. If you haven’t seen that film, please do – and stop reading this review as there are major spoilers to that film contained herein.

Many of my fondest childhood memories are of the movies I'd go see at the American Theatre in Pittston, Pa. Here's a holiday double feature I'll never forget...

In keeping with this long standing tradition, I think I'll spend Christmas Day at a local cinema watching...

Someone at Magnolia Pictures must hate Christmas, because for the second year in a row they've dropped a rather dark and nasty little film into your local theatre in time for the holiday movie-going season.
