And Now a Word from Our New Co-Host...

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome!

And when I say everyone, I mean our listeners, not my fellow hosts. And when I say warm, I mean that the comments about my mom were not appreciated (even though some were true and hit kind of close to home). And when I say thanks, I mean... well, I'll stop there, unless you care to read past the jump.

Rave - Jon's Top Five Halloween Movies/ Shows/Specials

Happy Halloween everybody! For the last few years we've picked our top five Halloween songs and then had a huge debate about them on the show. This year I've decided to throw a curve-ball and list my top-five movies/TV Shows/Specials instead.

My list is a little "off the beaten path". I've never been a fan of the horror genre in general, so the shows that say "Halloween" to me are mostly reminiscent of my childhood in some way:

Has Memorial Day lost its meaning? Or is it simply being redefined?

No, I'm not talking about the whole "Memorial Day is the kickoff for summer whoo hoo let's have a BBQ!" thing... this is more about the convergence of Memorial Day with Veteran's Day that seems to be occurring. I remember clearly when I was a kid that Memorial Day was all about those that gave their lives in service to our country. It was about remembering the people who had been killed while protecting our freedoms. Nowadays it seems that we see more and more focus on veterans of all kinds, both living, wounded, and dead during our Memorial Day festivities.
